Drop In Egypt Tourism
According to the Egyptian tourism authority (ETA), they recorded a drop of 28 per cent from January to July because of the revolution that swept the country at the beginning of this year.
From January to July only 55,000 tourists from UAE visited Egypt, recording a decrease of 58 per cent. The percentage drop of tourists from Arab countries was 18.6 per cent during the same period. Talking about July, the numbers decreased to 28.5 per cent.
A balance was created in the drop by tourists from Libya and Palestine after the Egyptians opened the Rafah Crossing. Only 5.7 million tourists visited Egypt from January to July, as compared to 8.2 million tourists during the same period. Most of the tourists came from Russia, Germany, France and Italy.
