North Carolina Tourism Sector Hit By Hurricane Irene

Tourism has been the most affected in North Carolina after the devastation caused by hurricane Irene. The American state which is famous for its coastal tourism was hit by Irene last week and has caused massive wrecking and damage, causing loss power and other goods. Hatteras and Ocracoke, the two major coastal tourism regions on the Outer Banks of North Carolina have been totally cut off from the mainland due to the hurricane. This has resulted in tourism business owners having to shut down and end their summer tourism season early. The Outer Banks, which receive around 300,000 visitors every summer, has been the most affected by the Category 1 hurricane, and hence the tourism revolving around the island's beaches has been severely affected.
